France has a new rule for very sick people.
They can ask for special medicine.
This medicine can help them die.
People must be 18 or older.
They must live in France.
They must feel pain. The pain does not go away with other help.
They ask for the medicine. Then they wait for some time.
They must say yes again later.
Then a doctor gives the medicine.
They can take it at home or in a hospital.
If they cannot take it, a doctor or nurse can help.
Another rule helps people with pain.
It helps people feel good and safe.
Many people in France want these new rules, but the process is slow.

The vote passed with 305 lawmakers supporting it and 199 against.
The bill will now move to the Senate for more discussion, but it could take months before a final vote is made.
Assisted dying would be possible only under strict conditions.
The patient must be over 18, be French or live in France, and have an advanced illness that causes severe pain and cannot be treated.
The request must come from the patient and be confirmed after a time of reflection.

音読のポイント

1. 聞き読み…英語の音声を聞きながら、スクリプトを黙読する練習です。英語を語順通りに読み下す習慣を身に着けます。
2. オーバーラッピング…英語の音声を聞きながら、スクリプトを音読します。
3. シャドーイング…英語の音声を聞いたら、スクリプトを見ずに真似して発音し、復唱します。リスニングと同時にスピーキングも鍛えらます。
4. ディクテーション…音声を聞いて、一つ一つの単語を正確に書き取ります。リスニング力を高める方法の一つですが、リスニング力だけでなく、ライティング力を強化することもできます。
